The "Babes"
The "Babes" are a series of paintings Joey has begun that show a little of
her playful side. The Babes are middle aged women who just want
to have fun. They are carefree and enjoy life. Women of all ages
are able to relate to some aspect of the Babes. The Babes are all 14"
x 17" watercolor, pen & ink.

The “Babes”
It is my contention that inside every woman lives a “Babe” crying to get
out! Here’s why…
The “Babes” are women of any age who are self-confident enough to wear a
bikini on the beach despite what the scales say...or, try a hair-do with
dread locks...or, buy their shoes two sizes too small…or, get a tattoo...or,
whistle at younger men. They can do all of this and much, much more without
any fear of being criticized.
The “Babes” take the time to pamper themselves with a girl’s night out for a
huge dessert and hip-hop dancing, a leisurely day at the beach or trips to
famous art museums by way of the “wine country”. They take college classes
in anything from gourmet cooking to the neuro-psychological study of
descendants of Latvanian royalty. They like to bowl, ride Harleys, bungee
jump, bird watch or knit. They pretty much do what they want.
The “Babes” know how to enjoy every minute of their lives; don’t take
themselves too seriously and really, the “Babes” just want to have fun. Why
not? “La Dolce Vita”.
